Our villa, a witness of the fascinating history of the immigration towards Mexico
The villa was built by the family Caire around 1930. This family was emigrated to Guadalajara in Mexico and constructed this summer house to pass their summers in the Ubaye valley.
There are still some Mexican elements but during the renovation and isolation in order to live in the house during the winter, the Mexican aspect diminished. The house has been restaurated in 2002. We discovered "La Mexicaine" in 2011 and became the fifth owners. We love the Ubaye valley for it's Mediterranean climate and the numerous sports you can practise such as ski, cycling, mountainbike, cross country skiing, parapente, rafting... The national park of the Mercantour is nearby and we are at the foot of the Cime de la Bonette. The ski resorts are at 15 to 25 minutes from La Mexicaine.
